About the position
We are looking for a Controller responsible for the company’s core accounting and financial reporting operations. You manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, ensure timely and accurate financial statements, and support external audits, budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented finance role requiring strong technical accounting expertise and process ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Closing & Reporting
- Direct responsibility for the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process
- Quality assurance of the reporting packages for timely close process compliance
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting, including preparation of financial statements
- Assists in year-end external audit and correspondence with the external auditors
- Provide monthly reporting to bank
- Provide and prepare applicable regulatory reporting
Accounting Operations
- Performs day-to-day accounting functions: AP, AR, collections
- Responsible for vendor payment processing and ongoing coordination with the Procurement department
- Assist in the consolidating process
Planning & Analysis
- Participate in the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, and variance analysis
- Participate in transfer pricing activities, including coordination with external advisors, preparation of supporting documentation, and monitoring of intercompany transactions
Technical Accounting & Tax
- Perform technical research on accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under GAAP, including drafting global accounting policies and memos
- Preparation of domestic tax returns and participation in the preparation of international tax returns and tax strategies
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency and strengthen the Company’s internal controls environment
- Other duties and special projects assigned by the Accounting Finance Director
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- 5+ years of experience in one of the Big 4 accounting firms and/or as a Controller/Assistant Controller
- Strong technical background in public accounting (IFRS)
- Familiarity with SOX compliance, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements – advantage
- Experience in a publicly traded company, including familiarity with financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance obligations – advantage
- Experience with SAP Business One (SB1) – advantage
- Winning spirit; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Process oriented; hands-on, highly organized; highest level of accuracy
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to anticipate needs and pre-plan work
- Self-managed, independent
- Strong Excel and Office skills are a must
- Advantage: experience in public companies
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- MBA – preferred
Languages
- High level of English required
- Advantage for other languages as well
